The Straughan Family

I grew up in Newcastle, England and live in Oak Park, Il close to Chicago. I have been married to Kirsten for 31 years and we have two kids, Jack (25) and Sophie (21).

Kirsten and I met in Australia, she was studying a semester abroad from University of Illinois in Champaign, IL and I was “travelling” around the world. We met in a backpacker’s hostel in Brisbane, Queensland called the Sly Fox Hotel, and it was as low budget as it sounds!

Kirsten’s mother, Barbara Lagoni has been a Shaklee Distributor for 45+ years and raised Kirsten and her brother Tyson using Shaklee products. Barb has a degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Cornell University.

Kirsten followed in her mother’s footsteps into a career in Nutrition. She is a Registered Dietician with over 25 years of experience in the Nutrition field. She is the Director of the Nutrition Science Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Sophie is a Junior, studying psychology at the University of Illinois in Champaign.

Jack played soccer at Hartpury University in England and graduated with a degree in Sports Management. He works in Sports Marketing in Oak Park, IL
